What we do: Centre tricontinental (CETRI) is a Belgian non-governmental organization dedicated to the study, publication, capacity-building, and consultancy on North-South relations and the challenges of globalization, with a focus on Africa, Asia, and Latin America. CETRI amplifies voices from the Global South and critically reflects on development policies amid global reconfigurations. Its work centers on social justice, inclusivity, and respect for cultural and ecological rights, supporting social and political actors advocating these rights. CETRI also provides study and training on development issues and social movements, and offers accommodation for students and doctoral candidates from the South at its Louvain-la-Neuve site.

Short history: Founded in 1976 in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, CETRI has grown into a center for critical reflection on development policies and North-South relations. Since 1994, it has published the Alternatives Sud collection in partnership with Syllepse publishing house in Paris. CETRI is a member of Belgian federations such as CNCD-11.11.11 and Acodev.
