It manages the European aviation network as the EUROCONTROL Network Manager, operates the Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre (MUAC)—the world’s first cross-border civil-military air navigation service provider—and leads innovation through its Innovation Hub and Aviation Learning Centre. Its services enhance operational efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability in air travel, serving key aviation stakeholders across Europe.

Where we are located: EUROCONTROL’s headquarters are located at Rue de la Fusée 96, 1130 Brussels, Belgium. It also operates the Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre in the Netherlands, along with other offices across Europe.

Short history: Established by the EUROCONTROL International Convention signed in 1960 and entering into force in 1963, EUROCONTROL was founded to harmonize and improve air traffic management across Europe. Initially created by six European states, it has grown to include 41 member states and 2 comprehensive agreement states. The organisation has evolved into a vital player in European aviation, supporting the Single European Sky initiative and employing over 2,500 professionals.
