Where we are located: Vertical Compute is headquartered in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, with additional offices in Courbevoie 13, 1348 Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve. Our presence in Belgium places us at the heart of Europe’s leading semiconductor and deep tech ecosystem.

Short history: Founded in 2024 by CEO Sylvain Dubois (ex-Google) and CTO Sebastien Couet (ex-imec), Vertical Compute is a spin-off from imec, leveraging advanced semiconductor research to address the memory bottleneck. Our founding team brings decades of experience in computing and memory technologies, with a clear vision to unlock the full potential of AI and data-driven innovation.

Organization & culture: As a privately held deep tech startup, Vertical Compute is building a diverse and passionate team of engineers, researchers, and industry experts. Recent developments: In early 2025, Vertical Compute secured €20 million in seed funding led by imec.xpand, with support from Eurazeo, XAnge, Vector Gestion, and imec. This investment will accelerate the development of our integrated memory and compute technology, positioning us as a key player in the future of AI computing.
