Where we are located: Headquartered in Verviers, Belgium, AUPa operates primarily across Wallonia and Belgium, serving both private and public sector clients throughout the region.

Short history: AUPa's origins trace back to 1977 when founder Marc Jortay established the initial practice, joined by landscape architect Isabelle Noël in 1978. The research workshop in landscape, architecture, and urban planning (ARPAU) was formally established in January 1984. The company was officially registered as AUPa sprl in 1998. A significant milestone occurred between 2010 and 2016 with a management buyout that transitioned leadership to the next generation of associates while maintaining the firm's founding principles of creativity, quality, respect, and teamwork.

Organization & culture: The firm operates with four associates—Florence Delhasse (architect engineer), Renaud Daele (environmental and urban planning specialist), Amaury Piret, and Andy Fank (architects)—supported by approximately 20 collaborators. This multidisciplinary team brings complementary expertise in architecture, environmental science, urban planning, landscape design, sustainable development, and energy performance. The company holds ISO 9001 certification and is recognized as a member of the Belgian Urban Planners Chamber, For Urban Passion association, and the Logistics in Wallonia competitiveness cluster.

Recent developments: AUPa continues to expand its landscape design capabilities and actively recruits experienced project managers to strengthen its team.
