Short history: Founded in 1898 by Eugène De Ro, a fermentation engineer, Brouwerij Haacht initially combined dairy and beer production before focusing solely on beer in 1929. It became one of Belgium’s first major beer producers by 1913. The brewery has modernized its production technology over the years while maintaining its historic roots. It remains 100% family-owned and independent, now led by the fourth generation of the founding family.
