What we do: MIREC, the Mission Régionale pour l’Insertion et l’Emploi à Charleroi, is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting job seekers in their professional integration and helping companies with their recruitment needs. We provide personalized coaching, information sessions, training, and job placement services for job seekers, with a focus on those of foreign nationality or origin. For companies, we offer tailored recruitment support, including CV screening, initial interviews, and post-hire follow-up to ensure successful integration. Our services are free of charge and designed to match motivated candidates with realistic career goals to employers’ needs.

Where we are located: Our headquarters are at Rue de Trazegnies 41, 6031 Monceau-sur-Sambre, Charleroi, Wallonia, Belgium. We also have decentralized offices in nine neighborhoods across the Greater Charleroi area and its surroundings, including Anderlues, Châtelet, Courcelles, Erquelinnes, Farciennes, Fleurus, Fontaine-l'Evêque, Marchienne-au-Pont, and Thuin.

Short history: MIREC was officially founded on January 18, 1991, and has since become a key player in regional employment and social development. Over the past thirty years, MIREC has developed numerous innovative programs and initiatives to support disadvantaged populations and improve their access to employment, often pioneering new approaches in Wallonia.

Organization & culture: MIREC employs over 60 staff members, including project managers who deliver both individual and collective support to job seekers. Our team is committed to inclusivity, diversity, and social innovation, working closely with local authorities, job centers, and businesses to ensure effective and sustainable integration.

Recent developments: MIREC recently organized a successful job dating event, resulting in 78% of participants receiving job offers. The event was praised by participating companies for the quality of candidates and the efficiency of the recruitment process. MIREC continues to expand its partnerships with local businesses and plans further initiatives to strengthen employment opportunities in the region.
