What we do: Aerospacelab is a leading European satellite manufacturer specializing in the design, production, and operation of fully integrated satellite systems for Earth observation, telecommunications, and technology demonstrations. Our portfolio covers satellites ranging from 50 kg to 5,000 kg, serving a broad spectrum of applications including environmental monitoring, agriculture, infrastructure, security, and defense. Where we are located: Aerospacelab is headquartered in Charleroi, Belgium, where we are building our flagship Megafactory—set to become Europe’s largest satellite production facility. We also operate the Monnet Center in Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, and have established a manufacturing hub in the United States to serve the North American market.

Short history: Founded in 2018, Aerospacelab has rapidly grown into a key player in the European space sector. The company achieved TRL9 (Technology Readiness Level 9) status in 2021, marking full operational maturity. Early milestones include the launch of the Monnet Center in 2022 and the groundbreaking of the Charleroi Megafactory in May 2024. Aerospacelab has successfully deployed multiple satellite constellations, including the recent launch of the Rose Earth observation satellite in March 2024, demonstrating advanced vertical integration capabilities.

Recent developments: In August 2025, Aerospacelab closed a $110 million Series B funding round to accelerate the construction of its Megafactory in Charleroi, which is scheduled to begin production in 2026 and reach full capacity by 2027, targeting an annual output of 500 satellites. This facility will be the third largest satellite factory in the world, with 7,000 square meters of production area and 4,000 square meters of cleanroom space. The company has also secured €37.5 million in financing from the European Investment Bank to support R&D and expand its payload and platform capabilities, reinforcing Europe’s strategic autonomy in space technologies.
