About us

What we do: Clinique Notre-Dame de Grâce is a general proximity hospital located north of Charleroi, Belgium. It provides comprehensive medical services including hospitalization, emergency care, surgery, obstetrics, radiology, and laboratory diagnostics. The hospital is recognized for its dynamic approach and continuous pursuit of medical excellence, serving patients with a strong focus on human and family values.

Where we are located: The hospital's headquarters are at Chaussée de Nivelles 212, 6041 Gosselies, Belgium, situated between Charleroi and the southern part of Walloon Brabant.

Short history: Founded in 1921 initially as the dispensary "La Charité," the institution was taken over in 1924 by the Franciscan Sisters of Manage, expanding its services to surgery and obstetrics. It became Clinique Notre-Dame de Grâce in 1934. In 1968, the clinic opened its governance to laypeople from the local community. Since 2008, it has partnered with Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc for specialized treatments. The hospital has undergone significant infrastructure upgrades, including the ongoing "Peau Neuve" transformation to modernize patient and physician environments.

Organization & culture: The clinic employs approximately 150 physicians and 60 paramedical practitioners who provide personalized patient care, including follow-up after discharge. The institution emphasizes a family-oriented and patient-centered culture, fostering a unique environment where patients remain at the heart of all concerns. It is part of the Réseau Hospitalier Charleroi Métropole since 2021, collaborating closely with other regional hospitals.

Recent developments: The major infrastructure project "Peau Neuve" is currently underway, aiming to bring the hospital facilities to the highest standards. Additionally, the clinic has developed the Centre Mieux-Etre, a multidisciplinary center focusing on integrative and holistic medicine addressing complex conditions such as obesity, stress, and psychosomatic disorders.
