What we do: The CHU de Liège is a university hospital, public and pluralistic, dedicated to healthcare, research, teaching, and social responsibility. As one of Belgium’s seven academic hospitals and the only one in Wallonia, it provides a wide range of medical services to patients, from emergency care to specialized treatments. The institution also plays a vital role in medical education and research, training future healthcare professionals and contributing to scientific advances.

Where we are located: Our headquarters are at Avenue de l'Hôpital, 1, 4000 Liège, Wallonia, Belgium. The CHU de Liège operates several sites across the region, including the Sart Tilman campus and the Notre-Dame des Bruyères site in Chênée, ensuring broad access to healthcare services for the local population.

Short history: The CHU de Liège was established in the 1960s when the University of Liège decided to create a modern university hospital on the Sart Tilman campus. The hospital became autonomous in 1991 but maintains close ties with the university. Over the years, the CHU has expanded its network by integrating hospitals such as Esneux and Notre-Dame des Bruyères, strengthening its regional presence.

Organization & culture: With nearly 6,000 employees, the CHU de Liège is the largest employer in the Liège region. The hospital brings together over 290 different professions, from medical staff to administrative and technical roles.
