Short history: Founded in 1898 by printer Jean Dupuis in Marcinelle, the company began as an imprint before becoming a publisher in 1922. In 1938, Jean Dupuis launched the youth magazine Spirou, which quickly became a cornerstone of Belgian comics. Over the decades, Spirou has been the birthplace of more than 300 comic book heroes and remains a cultural icon. Since 2004, Dupuis has been part of the Média-Participations group, strengthening its position in the international publishing market.
