About us

The Algemene Dienst voor Jeugdtoerisme (ADJ), also known as the General Department for Youth Tourism, is a non-profit organization in Belgium officially entrusted by the Flemish Government. Our core mission is to manage and operate high-quality youth accommodation centers, providing accessible and enriching experiences for a diverse range of groups.

We oversee three distinct centers: de Hoge Rielen in Kasterlee, a vast 230-hectare domain offering extensive accommodation options for schools, youth groups, sports associations, families, and companies, complete with residential buildings, campgrounds, a sports hall, and educational workshops. Destelheide in Dworp focuses on youth, art, and creation, providing facilities for artistic activities, residencies, and exhibitions. Lastly, Hanenbos, also in Dworp, emphasizes outdoor adventure with its forest trails and rope courses.

ADJ is committed to promoting youth leisure, education, sports, outdoor activities, and artistic development. Through our centers, we foster independence, group cohesion, and skill-building in an affordable and well-equipped environment. Our operations are supported by four-year grant agreements from the Flemish Government, ensuring we continue to provide essential infrastructure and services.
