About us

The APB (Association Pharmaceutique Belge - Algemene Pharmaceutische Bond) is the leading umbrella federation for Belgian independent pharmacists, proudly representing approximately 90% of the profession focused on community pharmacies. Our core mission is to develop, enhance, and vigorously support the expertise of these independent community pharmacists, ensuring they are best equipped to serve the evolving health needs of patients across Belgium.

To achieve this, APB provides a comprehensive suite of essential services. These include invaluable legal assistance, critical social and economic information, and extensive scientific and pharmaceutical documentation. We also serve as a crucial advocate, representing the interests of our pharmacists with government bodies, regional and community administrations, and various regulatory committees.

Furthermore, APB operates the Office for Drug Research (DGO), an accredited laboratory renowned for its systematic analysis, meticulous monitoring, and stringent quality control of medicines and labeled products. This commitment to quality assurance underscores our dedication to patient safety and trust in the pharmaceutical supply chain.
