What we do: The Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) is Belgium's autonomous public regulatory agency responsible for supervising the financial sector. FSMA ensures the integrity and transparency of financial markets, the honest and equitable treatment of financial consumers, and compliance with regulations. It supervises financial markets, listed companies, financial products, service providers, intermediaries, and supplementary pensions. FSMA also promotes financial education and combats illegal financial activities.

Where we are located: FSMA's headquarters are located at Congresstraat 12/14, 1000 Brussels, Belgium.

Short history: Established on April 1, 2011, as the successor to the Banking, Finance and Insurance Commission (CBFA), FSMA was founded to strengthen the supervision of Belgium's financial sector. It operates alongside the National Bank of Belgium and the FPS Economy to oversee the Belgian financial system.
