Overview Cluster Eco-construction asbl
http://www.ecoconstruction.beAbout us
What we do: Cluster Eco-construction asbl is a leading network in Wallonia dedicated to sustainable and eco-friendly construction and renovation. We bring together nearly 300 experts and companies—including architects, builders, engineers, researchers, trainers, and producers of ecological materials—to promote healthy, comfortable, and energy-efficient living and working environments. Our core mission is to advance eco-construction by raising awareness, providing training, and fostering innovation across the sector. We actively represent our members to public authorities and support the economic development of sustainable building in Wallonia. Our focus is on minimizing environmental impact through the use of biosourced, geosourced, recycled, or reused materials such as wood, hemp, straw, wool, and cork. We serve a broad range of stakeholders in the construction and utilities industries, from private companies to public institutions, all committed to a greener future.
Where we are located: Our headquarters is located at Avenue d'Ecolys 7, 5020 Namur, Belgium. This central location in Wallonia allows us to effectively coordinate our activities across the region and maintain close ties with local partners and authorities.
Short history: Founded in 2003 by a group of industry leaders, Cluster Eco-construction asbl has grown into a key player in the Walloon eco-construction market. Over the past two decades, we have established ourselves as a reference network, recognized and supported by the Walloon Region and part of the Sustainable Building Network led by ADEME, the French agency for ecological transition. Our milestones include the continuous expansion of our member base, the organization of numerous training and awareness-raising initiatives, and the active promotion of sustainable building practices at the regional and national levels.
Organization & culture: With a network of nearly 300 professionals, our organization thrives on collaboration, innovation, and sustainability. We believe in the power of collective action to drive meaningful change in the construction sector. Our culture is built on teamwork, knowledge sharing, and a strong commitment to environmental and social responsibility. Employees are encouraged to develop their skills, contribute to impactful projects, and be part of a community that values both professional growth and the well-being of people and the planet.
Recent developments: In September, Cluster Eco-construction inaugurated its new offices at the Ecolys economic activity park in Namur. The building itself is a model of sustainable construction, featuring a wooden structure insulated with straw, demonstrating our commitment to leading by example in eco-construction. This project, realized with the support of local partners, underscores our ongoing efforts to innovate and promote best practices in the field.
