About us

What we do: Iscal is a Belgian sugar producer specializing in the manufacturing of various sugar products including crystal sugar, powdered sugar, and decorative granules. Operating primarily in the consumer goods and manufacturing sectors, Iscal is committed to sustainable sugar production, emphasizing resource efficiency under the principle "Nothing is wasted, everything is transformed." The company serves both industrial clients and local growers, fostering strong partnerships within the sugar supply chain.

Where we are located: The company is headquartered at Rte d'Hacquegnies 2, 7911 Frasnes-lez-Anvaing, Belgium, with its main production site in Fontenoy near Tournai. This factory, built in 1993, is one of the newest and most energy-efficient sugar factories in Europe, capable of processing 12,000 tons of sugar beets daily.

Short history: Iscal was founded in 2003 from the merger of several historic sugar factories including Moerbeke (established 1869), Frasnes, Fontenoy, and Veurne. The name Iscal derives from the Latin names of the Yser and Escaut rivers, which are central to its supply chain. The company is part of the Finasucre group, a family-owned holding company founded in 1929 with a long-standing presence in the sugar industry.

Organization & culture: Iscal employs around 83 dedicated collaborators who share a culture of teamwork, innovation, and sustainable growth. The company values social responsibility and environmental stewardship, promoting continuous learning and development among its employees. Iscal fosters a collaborative workplace where employees are empowered to contribute to a sustainable future.
