Short history: Founded in 1988 by Erik Maes and Christine Beckers, Père Olive started as a small olive business producing 200 tubs per day. A pivotal collaboration in 1991 with the University of Gembloux led to innovative packaging under modified atmosphere. Officially established as Père Olive S.A. in 1993, the company grew to process 6000 tons of olives annually and holds a 70% market share in Belgium’s olive category.

Organization & culture: Père Olive employs approximately 140 to 160 people and operates on a 22,000 m² site with 16 production lines. The company emphasizes quality through long-term partnerships with producers, continuous R&D, and eco-responsible practices such as using 50% recycled packaging and onsite waste water treatment. It holds multiple quality certifications including BRC, IFS, HACCP, and organic certification.
