What we do: BioWanze is a leading European producer of sustainably produced bioethanol, neutral alcohol, and food and animal feed products. The company operates one of Europe's most advanced ethanol plants, producing renewable ethanol primarily from local biomass such as wheat. Their products contribute to climate-friendly energy solutions, especially as a gasoline substitute, reducing CO2 emissions by over 78% compared to fossil fuels. BioWanze also produces valuable wheat protein for food and feed, textured wheat proteins for the vegan and vegetarian market, biogenic CO2 for the beverage and pharmaceutical industries, and green fertilizers from biomass ash. Where we are located: BioWanze's headquarters are located at Rue Léon Charlier 11, 4520 Wanze, in the Walloon Region of Belgium. The site benefits from direct access to the Meuse waterway, facilitating efficient logistics to major freight hubs such as Antwerp, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam.

Short history: Founded in 2006, BioWanze has developed into Belgium's largest ethanol plant and a key player in renewable bioethanol production in Europe. The plant has been certified sustainable since 2010 and continues to innovate towards climate-neutral production, aiming for full climate neutrality by 2050.
