What we do: Hôpital Citadelle is a leading public hospital in Liège, Belgium, providing comprehensive medical care across all pathologies. It is one of the largest French-speaking hospitals in Belgium, offering advanced technological healthcare services to a broad patient base. The hospital operates multiple sites and includes a wide range of specialties with over 600 physicians and approximately 900 beds.

Where we are located: The hospital's headquarters is located at Boulevard du 12e de Ligne 1, 4000 Liège, Belgium. It operates three hospital sites: Citadelle, Laveu, and Herstal, as well as around forty laboratory collection centers (LaboCita) throughout the province of Liège.

Short history: Construction of the hospital began in 1974 on the site of the former military citadel. The hospital progressively expanded and merged with other institutions, including the Sainte-Rosalie clinic and Château Rouge in 1998, becoming the largest hospital in the French Community of Belgium. The Laveu site dates back to 1897 and joined the hospital group in 1997. The Herstal site specializes in geriatric care and rehabilitation. Key milestones include the inauguration of a geriatric day hospital in 2003 and the launch of a self-dialysis platform in 2013.

Organization & culture: Hôpital Citadelle employs around 3,500 staff members and more than 400 doctors, making it one of the main employers in the Liège region.
