What we do: Biotope Environnement is a Belgian environmental consultancy specializing in biodiversity conservation, ecological assessment, and sustainable land management. We provide expert services in environmental impact studies, project management, data analysis, and geographic information systems (GIS) for a wide range of development projects, including infrastructure, utilities, and urban planning. Our team supports public authorities, private developers, and conservation organizations in integrating environmental considerations into their projects, ensuring legal compliance and optimal biodiversity protection. We are also active in protected area management, species rescue operations, and the development of biodiversity strategies for regional authorities. Our expertise covers fauna, flora, landscape, and environmental communication, and we hold certification for environmental impact reporting (MER) in Flanders.

Where we are located: Our headquarters is located at Rue de Habay 34, 6741 Étalle, Belgium, in the province of Luxembourg. We also maintain a presence in Brussels to serve clients across the country.

Short history: Biotope Environnement was established in May 2016 as the Belgian subsidiary of the French Biotope group, following a long-standing partnership between French and Belgian environmental professionals. The company was founded by Belgian naturalists with the aim of bringing international expertise in biodiversity to the local market. Since its creation, Biotope Environnement has grown steadily, earning recognition for its technical excellence and commitment to sustainable development.

Recent developments: Biotope Environnement has recently launched a new service focused on the conservation and sustainable management of tropical forests, expanding its international collaboration with other Biotope subsidiaries worldwide. The company also continues to update the Biological Evaluation Map for the Brussels-Capital Region in partnership with Bruxelles Environnement. Additionally, Biotope Environnement holds the “Natural Environment” approval issued by the Belgian Minister for the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development, and is certified to conduct environmental impact assessments in Flanders.
