What we do: The Geomatics Unit at the University of Liège (ULiège) is dedicated to advancing the field of geomatics through innovative research and exceptional teaching. We focus on geographic information systems (GIS), surveying, and remote sensing, empowering both students and professionals in these areas.
Where we are located: Our headquarters is located at Rue de Porto 26, 4020 Liège, Belgium.
Short history: The Geomatics Unit was formally established in 1997, bringing together various disciplines such as topography, cartography, GIS, remote sensing, and photogrammetry. In 2005, it expanded to include satellite geodesy and positioning.
Organization & culture: We are a small but dynamic team within the Department of Geography at ULiège. Our culture emphasizes collaboration, integrity, curiosity, and knowledge-sharing, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
