What we do: KMC Amba is a leading food ingredients company specializing in potato-based solutions for the global food industry. Our portfolio includes potato granules, flakes, native potato starch, modified starches, and application-specific products such as CheeseMaker, EmulsiForm, Gelamyl, GlazeMaker, FiberBind, ColdSwell, NatureBind, and Superior Potato Starch. These ingredients are used in a wide range of applications including cheese, confectionery, bakery, dairy, meat, snacks, soups, sauces, dressings, and more, where high water binding and stable texture are essential. Our products are non-allergenic, gluten-free, and GMO-free, offering plant-based alternatives to traditional food ingredients. We are known for our expertise in replacing dairy proteins in imitation cheese, removing eggs from dressings, and reformulating jelly candy without gelatine.

Where we are located: KMC Amba is headquartered at Herningvej 60, DK-7330 Brande, Denmark. The company operates production sites in Brande, Karup, Toftlund, and other locations across Denmark, but does not have Belgian offices.

Short history: Founded in 1933 as a cooperative by Danish starch-potato farmers, KMC Amba has grown from a national supplier to a global exporter, now serving clients in more than 90 countries. The company was established to meet Denmark’s need for domestic potato starch and has since expanded its product range to over 60 potato-based ingredients. KMC Amba has a proud history of innovation, including the development of new potato varieties and the establishment of specialized factories for granules and flakes.
