What we do: Axinesis is a Belgian medical technology company specializing in innovative neurorehabilitation devices for patients with motor and cognitive disorders, such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and cerebral palsy[1][2]. Our mission is to enhance functional recovery throughout the patient care pathway by providing accessible, cost-effective technologies that enable intensive, repetitive, and engaging therapy. Our flagship products include REAplan®, a robotic device for upper limb rehabilitation, REAtouch®, an interactive system with therapeutic video games, and REAtouch® Lite, a portable version for home-based therapy. These solutions integrate robotics, augmented reality, and gamification to stimulate neuroplasticity and accelerate recovery, supporting both centralized hospital care and decentralized, independent rehabilitation[1]. We serve healthcare institutions, rehabilitation centers, and directly support patients and therapists across Europe.

Where we are located: Our headquarters is located at Avenue Sabin 3, 1300 Wavre, Belgium[2].

Short history: Axinesis was founded as a spin-off from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain), driven by a passion for medical innovation. Since our inception, we have achieved significant milestones, including the CE marking of REAplan® in 2016, validating its compliance with European medical device regulations[5]. Over the years, we have treated more than 3,000 patients and continue to expand our clinical and research collaborations with academic institutions. Our growth has been supported by the investment fund VIVES, linked to UCLouvain.

Organization & culture: Axinesis is a compact, dynamic team of around 12 dedicated professionals who share a commitment to empathy, integrity, and excellence. We foster a collaborative and stimulating work environment where every team member contributes to our common goal: improving patients’ quality of life.
