We mobilize, support, and innovate to promote social economy practices that strengthen social bonds and citizen autonomy. Our services include personalized consulting, training, facilitation, and support for social enterprises to enhance their social impact and economic viability. We also act as a research and innovation laboratory experimenting with new economic models that address contemporary societal challenges.
Where we are located: Our headquarters are located at Rue du Petit Chêne 95, 4000 Liège, Belgium. We operate primarily within Wallonia and Brussels, supporting social economy actors at regional, Belgian, and European levels.
Short history: Founded in 1981, SAW-B has grown into a pluralistic federation representing over 120 social enterprises and associations, including cooperatives and research centers, with around 15,000 workers. We have established ourselves as a key actor defending and promoting social economy as a credible alternative to neoliberal capitalism.
