About us

Airbus SE stands as Europe's foremost aeronautics and space company, renowned for its expertise in designing, manufacturing, and delivering a comprehensive range of products. This includes commercial aircraft, advanced helicopters, robust military transports, cutting-edge satellites, and powerful launchers, serving customers globally across various sectors.

The company's origins trace back to the Airbus Industrie GIE consortium, established on December 18, 1970. Formed by leading European aerospace firms from France, Germany, the UK, and Spain, its primary objective was to challenge the prevailing U.S. dominance in the aviation industry. Airbus successfully launched its inaugural aircraft, the A300 widebody jet, in 1974, marking a significant milestone.

Airbus has undergone a transformative evolution through strategic mergers and rebranding. Initially, its parent companies formed EADS in 2000, which subsequently fully integrated Airbus. EADS later rebranded to Airbus Group in 2014 and ultimately to Airbus SE in 2017. Today, Airbus SE operates through three distinct divisions:

  • Airbus Commercial Aircraft: Leading the global commercial aviation market.
  • Airbus Defence and Space: Providing defense, security, and space solutions.
  • Airbus Helicopters: A world leader in helicopter manufacturing.
