Overview Brasserie Chouffe
https://chouffe.com/About us
What we do: Brasserie Chouffe is a Belgian craft brewery specializing in the production of high-quality special beers. Known for its iconic La Chouffe range, the brewery crafts beers characterized by unique yeast strains and the use of herbs such as coriander, delivering fruity, floral, and spicy aromas. Their products serve consumers worldwide, with exports reaching over 40 countries, positioning them in the consumer goods and food sectors.
Where we are located: The brewery is headquartered in Achouffe, a village in the Ardennes forest of southern Belgium, at Achouffe 32, 6666 Houffalize, Belgium.
Short history: Founded in 1982 by brothers-in-law Pierre Gobron and Chris Bauweraerts, Brasserie Chouffe began as a hobby in a farm garage. Their first brew was 49 liters of La Chouffe beer. Over time, the brewery grew from a small pico-brewery to an internationally recognized craft beer producer. In 2006, the brewery partnered with Duvel Moortgat Brewery to expand its reach and potential.
Organization & culture: The company employs 27 people who share a commitment to quality, innovation, and environmental respect. The culture emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and excellence, fostering a welcoming and supportive work environment. The brewery’s identity is symbolized by its gnome mascots, reflecting the magic and conviviality of the brand.
Recent developments: Brasserie Chouffe continues to innovate while honoring its heritage, with a portfolio including year-round and seasonal beers. Their flagship La Chouffe Blonde, an 8% ABV Belgian blonde ale with coriander, remains a hallmark. The brewery has earned numerous international awards and expanded its global distribution network.
