What we do: Ateljee VZW is a Belgian non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals facing challenges in the labor market by providing meaningful employment opportunities that foster personal growth and social integration. Our core activities include human resources services, education and e-learning, and the operation of social economy projects such as De Kringwinkel (a well-known thrift store chain), trans-fair bike initiatives, and social restaurants. We serve a diverse clientele, including people with reduced job opportunities, local communities, and partners in the social and circular economy sectors. Our mission is to create a positive impact by combining social inclusion with environmental responsibility, offering high-quality second-hand goods, repair services, and sustainable solutions that benefit both people and the planet.

Where we are located: Our headquarters is located at Getouwstraat 11, 9000 Gent, Belgium. This central location in Ghent allows us to serve the local community effectively and collaborate with regional partners. Our activities and projects are primarily focused in the Flanders region, with a strong presence in and around Ghent.

Over the years, we have expanded our range of initiatives, most notably through the success of De Kringwinkel, which has become a household name for second-hand shopping in Flanders.
