Graine de Vie NGO

What we do: Graine de Vie NGO is a non-profit organization dedicated to combating deforestation and promoting environmental conservation in Africa through impactful tree planting initiatives. We actively engage local communities to restore ecosystems and improve livelihoods, focusing on sustainability, collaboration, and community empowerment. Our work aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly climate action, poverty reduction, and biodiversity promotion.

Where we are located: Our headquarters are located at Grand'Place 28, 7070 Le Rœulx, Belgium. We also have operations expanded to Luxembourg since 2012, with volunteer staff in Europe and strong partnerships with local communities across several African countries.

Short history: Founded in Belgium in 2009 and expanded to Luxembourg in 2012, Graine de Vie has planted over 45 million trees in Africa, including Madagascar, Togo, Benin, Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Cameroon. Our goal is to reach 1 billion trees planted and to expand our projects and management model to neighboring countries.

Our culture is driven by passion for environmental stewardship and a collaborative approach that has transformed thousands of lives while restoring vital ecosystems.

Recent developments: Graine de Vie continues to grow its impact with an annual budget of approximately EUR 600,000. The organization is actively working to penetrate new markets such as the Flemish region and diversify its projects to increase environmental and social impact.
