Short history: Founded in 1872 by engineer Robert Vinçotte to improve industrial workplace safety, initially focusing on steam boiler inspections, the company expanded its services to electrical installations and other safety domains. In 1989, Vinçotte merged with its main Belgian competitor AIB to form AIB-Vinçotte, becoming the largest Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) company in the Benelux region. The name was shortened to Vinçotte in 2004. Since May 2022, Vinçotte has been part of the Kiwa Group.
