What we do: La SMALA is a cooperative that brings together and supports a family of entrepreneurs who inspire and help each other to deploy innovative and authentic impact strategies. We accompany entrepreneurs who want to make a positive difference in society, helping them to maximize their impact, overcome obstacles, and build sustainable businesses. Our focus is on supporting ambitious entrepreneurs in the French-speaking region of Belgium and Luxembourg, with a shared commitment to creating value for people, the planet, and the economy.

Where we are located: Our headquarters are in Louvain-la-Neuve, Wallonia, Belgium, at Rue de Rodeuhaie, 1348. We operate primarily in the French-speaking region of Belgium and Luxembourg, supporting entrepreneurs across these areas.

Short history: La SMALA began in January 2020 when experienced entrepreneurs from Wallonia and Brussels gathered to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing SMEs. The cooperative was officially launched on April 21, 2021, with 31 founding members, including notable figures such as Jacques Crahay, Luc Pire, Bernard Surlemont, Anne-Catherine Trinon, Florence Trokay, and Olivier Witmeur. The Foundation for Future Generations was the first institutional member, supporting the launch and strengthening the ecosystem for social impact entrepreneurship.

Our community is made up of entrepreneurs who value action, commitment to the common good, and cooperation.
