What we do: FuturoCité is a non-profit association operating at the intersection of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Sustainable Development. We promote innovative solutions for sustainable energy transition by providing a platform for demonstration and pilot projects focused on green energy efficiency and smart city development. Our activities include consulting, communication, research, tool creation, training, and organizing thematic workshops and working groups. We also coordinate Open Data initiatives among Walloon local administrations to foster data sharing and standardization.
Where we are located: Our headquarters are located at Rue René Descartes, 7000 Mons, Belgium.
Short history: Founded in January 2010 through a public-private partnership initiated by the Plan Marshall 2.Vert, the Cabinet Marcourt, the Walloon Region, and several private companies, FuturoCité has become a key operational reference for the Smart Region initiative of Digital Wallonia. Since its creation, it has developed a dynamic environment encouraging creativity and knowledge sharing.
