What we do: ORES is the operator responsible for the daily management of electricity, natural gas, and public lighting distribution networks in approximately 200 municipalities across Wallonia, Belgium. The company ensures energy supply to over 1.3 million households and businesses, serving about 2.8 million citizens. Its core activities include network operation, maintenance, development, customer connections, meter installation and reading, and data management for the liberalized energy market. ORES also supports social programs and the deployment of smart grids and smart meters.

Where we are located: ORES is headquartered at Avenue Jean Mermoz 14, 6041 Gosselies, Hainaut, Belgium. It operates throughout Wallonia, covering 75% of the region's territory.

Short history: Founded in 2008 through the merger of eight intermunicipal energy distributors, ORES began operations in 2009. It consolidated the management of electricity and gas distribution networks in Wallonia, becoming the largest network operator in the region.

Organization & culture: ORES employs around 2,300 people and is structured as a cooperative owned by the original intermunicipal distributors.
